St. Augustine of Canterbury, Aiken
We gathered for continental breakfast at 9:00 and had morning devotionals led by Elaine Sandberg. Holy Eucharist at 10:00 with the Rev. Daniel A. Wagner as Celebrant. The offering was collected for the Cindy Parrott Scholarship Fund for travel expenses for Daughters to meetings and programs.
After the service all Daughters gathered out front for a group picture using a drone. Next we a sharing time by Chapters (please see Projects under Resources on this web site). Lunch was catered locally and served by the Sisters of Prayer Chapter.
After lunch Joyce Pipkin, St.. Mary's Chapter, Columbia gave a presentation about the people in Haiti that have been helped by the Episcopal Church. Included were pictures of the last installation of Daughters. Joyce explained that are many ways to get involved with the work in Haiti:
1. Prayer Partners: Chapter to Chapter
2. Sponsorship of Crosses for new Daughters ($15)
3. Donations to e=h (Education equals Hope) which supplies tuition, clothing, books for children in Haitian schools..
After lunch there was time for networking and shopping. 1885 Designs were present, Joyce brought many items of jewlery and art work made by Haitians, and the Oder of St Helena had books, cards, and rosaries for sale.
We missed those who could not come and enjoyed the company of all who were there.
